So I've made a start on my new WIP...my first one I've kitted up myself.
Not done loads but I'm really enjoying it so far.

It's so different working on a big piece of Aida and I started working using a big hoop but found it too heavy so have not used anything. I might try a small hoop and keep moving it when I work on different sections.

It's a stitchrovia pattern and I really like her designs so will probably do more in the future.

Lions finished

Finally got round to finishing this project. It's only small but was a bit fiddly and being on holiday meant I had a beak from it.
There wee a couple of mistakes and the stitching went in the wrong direction a couple of times, but it's not bad for me taking a next step doing something a little more complicated :)

It's to be a present for my friend's first son who was born a couple of weeks ago.

I've started on a Scottish Lion kit I got on a trip to the Highlands. Some nice bold colours and I'm getting through it at a reasonable pace - probably because it's nice big areas to get though and also I'm getting a bit quicker :)

I've made a bit of a mistake on the blue section by not leaving a row for the red, but I've thought of a way to improvise and make some changes.
It's sort of fun to try and think outside the box and work out how to fix it - though the perfectionist in me doesn't like how it's not exactly like the pattern. Ha ha.

A friend is expecting his first son so I might send it as a congratulations card.

Scissors case - stitching finished

I've (just about) finished all the cross stitch on my scissors case now. I'm really pleased with how it's worked out and so wanted to log it at this point before it's all put together.

I've folded it into its finished shape to take some photos of it, but it needs ironing to put it properly into shape. The top flap will be held down by something like a button and will be where the scissors go into the case.

The next step is to get some material to line the inside and I have also found a blog online which explains how to sew together a project like this.

Scissors case - progress on the stitching

So the stitching is taking longer than I thought :) but it's good fun stitching a design that I created.
Here's where I am at the moment

Scissors case - stage 1

So I decided to create a scissor case as I bought a lovely pair of embroidery scissors and didn't want them getting damaged.
I am creating it myself as I couldn't see many designs that I liked and it was also a bit pricey to buy one - so paying a lot for something I wasn't too keen on didn't appeal :)

I've finished the design and have started stitching it. I've used a spare piece of Aida which I got free, so if it doesn't work or I make a mistake I'm happy to re-do it again.

Finished Fowl

Here's my completed cockerel. I really liked the bright colours and I enjoyed building it all up.
